About Our District
A Brief History of the Onset Fire District Fire Department:
In 1890 the Ladies Industrial Union formed a private Fire Company in Onset called the Industry Hook and Ladder. The Industry Hook and Ladder Fire Company became the Onset Fire Department in 1894 and was approved by the Legislature in 1895.
Today the Fire Department consists of: 1 Fire Chief, 1 Assistant Chief, 1 Deputy Chief.
The Department is organized into companies: Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, and Ladder 1, with each company having a Captain and Lieutenant.
